2nd Post w/ Snow Pics ! !

My second post today ......
Our rain event has never occurred. It is a snow event & here are some pics from my home in Good Ole' Northeast Pennsylvania ! !

Early afternoon now & still snowing heavy. DH is out in it but I keep tabs thru cell phone & he says the Interstates are just wet!!

Weekend .... Weekend .....

Surprise snow here this a.m. Was supposed to be warm enough to rain but .... SURPRISE .... SURPRISE ! ! ! Here in the mountains it is snowing with a winter weather statement on. This weekend we may just get a major snow storm. Then again it may go to the south of us. We will see .....
...as for the Giveaway ! ! It will be a pair of pillowcases that I am working on now. I will announce the beginning of the Giveaway as soon as I get them done!!

Spring on the Horizon & a Giveaway .....

Morning .....
With Valentines Day now in the history books I hope everyone got something pretty & sweet from their significant other. I Got a beautiful card & candy & a rose. Not bad for almost 44 years together. I am not much of a chocolate eater but I do confess ...I really like the chocolate covered "things" in these Heart shaped boxes. ..... However ...... one problem ....... I have dentures & when I bite into a caramel they get embedded in the candy. Not a pretty sight....... LOL!!
St. Patricks Day will be here in about a month & for me that is the Grand Start of Spring. Once March is here it is warm weather on the way .
I have been thinking of having a Giveaway to celebrate Spring . Maybe in about a month. Of Course...... Everyone knows that it will be something embroidered or crocheted & no doubt Springy ( is that a word??) ! ! Stay Tuned for that ......

For the Love of Music .....

When I was a little girl I was exposed to reading early in my life by my Grandmother. She loved to read & introduced me to the wonders of the library. She also played piano. She was the musician for the Lodge she belonged to. My Uncle Le, her son & my Mother both were readers & as many of you know my Uncle Le was a published poet.
As the years have added up to my 60+ I have passed this wonderful past time on to my daughter & my niece as they too devour books.
Piano music has a certain power for me. I remember vividly Grandma playing "The Tennessee Waltz". There still are times when I hear it that it brings tears to my eyes.
I love music. I love Classical & Jazz ..... Vintage rock & roll ..... R&B & Motown. I love Big Band & for the music I have on my blog now is Barry White... George Benson & Lou Rawls. Did you ever hear such a sultry sexy voice as Barry White ??? His music just melts me.
So don't ever let it be said that we don't learn from those before us because I will say my love of books & music I "got" from my Mom's family! !

Waiting for Snow.....

While we are usually called the "snow belt" here in the northeast this year we are in a snow deficit. Not complaining..... We had so much rain this past summer & fall that it was unmanageable for many areas. DH has not had any bad roads to contend with & that is a very good thing.
Today we are going to get some snow. How much ?? Well, according to the forecasters ... a dusting to an inch. Hardly worth mentioning. But they are calling for the teens at night & only 20's for the days over the next few days. So-o-o-o-o unless we get some nasty weather in the next 2 months the snowmen will have to wait until next year to be built. As do the ski slopes & snow machine trails.
I just put a crock pot of vegetable soup together & can't wait until the aroma fills the house. Today I am continuing the reorganization of my patterns & getting rid of some of those I do not use. I take any left over crafts to our Interfaith. It is very much like Goodwill. I know someone will like them.
