Organizing School Supplies

Welcome to my series, Organize your Life!
Organize your LIFE
This week I organized all the back to school items!
Last week, I did all my back-to-school shopping and it feels great!  Well,  I really only had to buy for one because Michael didn’t need anything for his pre-school.

I tried doing a one-stop-shop at Target and I was pretty successful except for a special clay they needed and I didn’t like all their folders.

When I got home, Grace helped me go through everything.

I grabbed my list and we double checked everything.

She loves to help me!

Since, there was a sale, I bought extra supplies for our craft cabinet.

I was having a really hard time decided what lunchbox to get.  I really wanted this one but I am going to start with this regular one and see how it goes.  It looks cute and it’s pink so I am sure it will be fine for now.

Once, we organized everything, we placed a lot of the items neatly into her backpack (which I found at a garage sale this spring for $1).  I put the rest back into the Target bags, tied them and place them into a closet until school starts!

It feels great to be done!  I already have her uniform and shoes ready also!  I bought her new socks but I we are going to use the same shirts, jumper and sweater from last year.
As for Michael,  I got him a folder and backpack but he doesn’t have a dress code so that is easy.
I am sure something else will come up so that is why I am trying to do what I can do now.
To be honest, I am worried about making her lunch everyday!  This is totally new to us and I am going to have to get used to one more thing to do.  I will probably make her lunch at night.  Mornings are going to be a little crazy this year!  I will have to get Grace and Michael totally ready to go and I need to drive them to school daily.  I also try to have my workout clothes on so I can head to the gym right after drop off.  I am just trying to take advantage of the last couple of weeks with the kids.
We have been busy reading (she loves her new chart), swimming and playing with friends.  We are going to the zoo tomorrow and still have a couple of other events planned so we are excited about that!
How is your summer going?  Are you ready for school to start?

One of my favorite parts of the day is lunchtime because we all come together to cook and eat.  My kids love helping me in the kitchen (sometimes too much, ha)!  They all call themselves my “special helper”!  We only get one more month of lunches with Grace until school starts. Sad smile  She love helping me the most so I am trying to make our lunches special.
Anyway, I thought I would share one of our favorite lunches.

Just thinking out loud

I’ve been enchanted by a little cottage sitting on a country road I take everyday. It has a large corn field for a garden. Two or three steps from the back door on a given summer day, and you’ll disappeared into a thicket of dark green corn stalks towering 10 feet, maybe 12 feet, above the ground. Truly enchanting!

I can't stand the Harry Potter movies. I can't stand anything Harry Potter.

Birds have taken over our porch… It has to do with a verdant grapevine that grows there. It’s like living inside Nature. I’m loving it… but what to do with all that poop?

I haven’t worn my Shabby Apple dress again. I don’t feel comfortable in it and I’m thinking maybe I should give it away on my blog. I’m wondering if people may see this as unethical—to give away something I have already worn. Size 10.

I love re-purpose furniture and chairs with great potential are my favorite. I like to elevate their approval rating by giving them center stage in my garden... the only problem is, they won’t last long there… as soon as the get transformed, they always end up inside the house.

The baker’s rack I use as potting table in the garden has been swallowed up by the exuberance of mid summer. It’s not mine. I cannot use it any longer, for it now belongs to a thick vine that every year grows fresh and green...

Yet, I love it! I love Nature’s mystique and the way it engulfs the simplest of thing to then gently transform them into works of art the color of its own skin...

When I was a little girl living in a forgotten little rural town in a faraway land, my sister Lissette and I used to sleep every night under a flowery canopy that pretty much looked like this...

It covered our entire bed, and it was something more of a necessity than anything else. You see, this tent was suppose to be a mosquito net to protect us from the constant mosquito bites that caused our skin to swell and itch for several days, but mosquito nets and luxuries such as that was simply out of the question back then. So when someone left us some unwanted fabric that was either too old or too ugly to be transformed into little girls' dresses, we got our canopy made. It was hot, and the humidity level under it was excruciating. I remember sweating profusely at night... yet, still smiling under our enchanted roof... a shimmering glow of pink embracing us...

May you all have an enchanted night... Breathe. Relax. Be.
