WHAT MY CLIENTS ARE SAYING….

I don't know if I'm more excited about our date night or the fact that I can fit back into a sexy prebaby dress :)

I weighed myself this morning and I'm PSYCHED!! 4 pounds down and…(drumroll) 1 size smaller!!! Yup, I'm wearing pants today that fit great and they're a 10! In a couple more weeks I'll have lots of 12-14's to donate!! YAY!

My personal goal was to maintain my weight during the Christmas holidays. To my surprise I had lost another pound by the 26th when I weighed in at Curves. The Cinch program works!

Hey y'all happy to report, I have been Cinching like a rockstar since last week and am down 3 lbs, woot!!
I am down 10lbs from Nov 1. First time ever I have been successful at losing any kind of weight. Feels good. :)

Since I got the 'cocktail' of chemotherapy 7 yrs ago, I was blessed with random hot flashes. BUT I have happily discovered that the non GMO soy Cinch shakes has eliminated them! So cool!

I have finally gotten to the point where I eat like a rat (sorry can't think of anything else) instead of eating like a pig (again, can't come up with a better analogy). I lost three pounds over the holiday even though I cheated and I think it's because I kept my metab up by eating in smaller portions rather than gulfing everything down at one meal and unbuttoning my jeans:)

I finally tried the Cinch Chocolate shake an I love it so much I wish I could have it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!

I haven't checked in for awhile so just wanted to give an update. I'm down five pounds and am feeling healthy and energized. I haven't exercised appropriately but I'm sticking to the Cinch diet plan and am seeing results. A little nervous about leaving to see family tomorrow. My mom ALWAYS feeds us well. Her cooking is amazing. Pray for will power!
Stats this week...down another 3 lbs...4 lbs away from my goal and I have already brought my healthier version of Thanksgiving favorites to take to my family's big ole unhealthy eat out next week.
I missed the call tonight because I am on a girls weekend with my sister. We went shopping and I bought new jeans. Size 10!! In July I was busting out of 14....close to my size 8 skinny jeans!

Down 5 pounds in 2 weeks and feel great...very energized!! This is the first plan I’ve ever done that actually works and keeps me feeling full. :)

In less than 2 weeks I'm down 2.5 pounds and 1% body fat! I haven't lost an ounce of muscle either!! YAY for Leucine!! (I would have been off to a better start but there was a ton of Halloween candy lingering…sent it to work with my husband and now I'm ready!!)
Measured today, down 8 lbs and 10.25 inches (not counting the bust and chest;))
Lost a 1/2 inch off of my butt! Woohoo! (First week)
I’m done 3 pounds in one week!! I know if I continue this average I will reach my weight loss goal by week 12!!!
It's official, I'm down 7 pounds. 8 more lbs before I reach my goal...and hey since I added another month I want to get rid of an extra 5 after Christmas:)

A mystical longing

Thursday, December 29, 2011
Seasons interwoven; the end of one, the beginning of another… and I am feeling a deep desire to be like numinous leaves, blown to that Primitive Garden—a place outside this place. The land of all beginnings.

As I walk the lonesome garden, its landscape becomes my soul; its wintry topography the country of my heart; bared and longing for the bountifulness of seeds and blooms. I am memorizing and treasuring precious memories; of gatherings at the old homestead these past few weeks; treasuring within my heart this yearning—this mystical longing as I see my children and the children of my children setting out on their journey back home.

This is the season of contrasts and thanksgiving, family times and gatherings, but also it is the season of parting and of deep loneliness for many people. It doesn’t matter how hard you hold onto the air you breathe, there is always an end to everything. And thus, I am back to the accustomed ways and my naked trees, gloomy days of the Old December and cold north winds. Can I choose barren simple beauty in a time of thoughtfulness?

At the moment I am caught between two sentiments—the beauty of silence and the reticent joy of clatter and family and the laughter of children and the embracing and whispering in tiny ears “I love you” . How do I choose one without rebuffing the other? Can I choose both? Because I need both.

Like the naked trees outside my window stands my soul before the world.

I know, this loneliness shall pass. I will feel better soon.

My girls

Sunday, December 25, 2011
Hello there! I just wanted to pop in real quick to let you know what I’ve been up to these past few days and share my joy with you…

(My real fairies: Dear Tesa and Averi with their Mima)

And, really, all I have to say for today is that I am thankful to God to no end for being able to share the magic of Christmas with all my children and grandchildren this year, but the one thing that really comes to mind is this... I believe! I believe in magic and holding onto your dreams. I believe in family and love and life, and I believe in the enchantment of memories and hope and giving and forgiving as we share our life with those around us…

Today, I am sending all the fairies in my neck of the woods your way—satchels filled to the brim with best of wishes for you and your families and a blessed and Happy New Year! Thank YOU for letting me share my life with you!

Happy New Year

Fresh Fruit Ambrosia

Thursday, December 22, 2011
Hey everyone!
Are you all busy getting ready for Christmas!
Are you getting your meal planning done?
I wanted to share this quick healthy recipe with you…
Fresh Fruit Ambrosia
Offering a nice change of pace from traditionally heavy holiday eats, Ambrosia is a fresh, clean dish perfect for cleansing the palette or finishing a meal. Plus, this easy treat can be made a day in advance to cut down on your holiday prep time.
You´ll need
5 oranges, peeled and sectioned
1 pineapple, cored and diced
1 ½ cups orange juice
1/3 cup shaved coconut
1 tbsp lemon juice
Combine orange and pineapple in a large bowl and cover. Refrigerate for one hour or more. Remove, add remaining ingredients and toss until evenly mixed. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
Serves 8-10
Enjoy!
What are you making this year?
Have a great day! :)

Merry Christmas to all

Tuesday, December 20, 2011
To all who come here:

May joy snow on you, and may the bells jingle happiness for you!

Happy, happy Christmas, that can win us back to the delusions of our childish days;

that can recall the pleasures of our youth;

that can transport the traveler, thousands of miles away,

back to their own fire-side and their quiet home!

~Charles Dickens

PS: I'm taking a brief blogging break. I'll be back soon after the Holidays. Merry Christmas my friends!

Chocolate Chip Cheese Ball

Monday, December 19, 2011
2010 03 14_1448
Chocolate Chip Cheese Ball
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup better, softened
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup confectioners’ sugar
2 tablespoons brown sugar
3/4 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
3/4 cup finely chopped pecans
Graham crackers

In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese, butter and vanilla until fluffy.

Gradually add sugar;  beat just until combined.

Stir in chocolate chips.

Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours.

Place cream cheese mixture on a large piece of plastic wrap; shape into ball.

Refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

Just before serving, roll cheese ball in pecans.

Serve with graham crackers.

Enjoy! :)

YIELD: 1 cheese ball (about 2 cups)

My Grandma made this at a family party and everyone went crazy over it!  It was the hit of the party!!!

She got this recipe from Taste of Home magazine.  It was one of the best holiday recipes of 2006.

This makes an easy, delicious dessert to bring to your next Christmas party.  This also great change from cookies and pies (although those are awesome too!)

What Christmas desserts are your favorite?

Do you have a signature dish?

Have a great week!

Bonnie :)

Show Off Your Cottage Monday

Sunday, December 18, 2011
What elements define cottage style? Cottage style simply means a relaxed approach to living. The spirit of romanticism and invention; freedom to mix old and new and of course, a love of floral and… something else: Try soothing pink in a bedroom! Ah yes, one must have at least one little room to decorate in pink—in many shades of pink!

Hello to you! And welcome to another "SHOW OFF YOUR COTTAGE MONDAY", a blog party I host at the beginning of each week to celebrate the things we love about our homes and how we live. If you're new here, thanks for stopping by and if you've visited before, thanks for returning!

The House in the Roses

I wanted to say welcome new party goers as well as say thank you to every participant and party friends for taking the time to come over and share your wonderful links each week! You’re all such creative souls, and I’m always learning from you! THANKS SO MUCH!

Rules: Link your post, not the main page of your blog. Please include a link to the party or the party's button in your post. Celebrate life and see how others celebrate theirs by visiting!

How to Get Ready for a House Guest {repost}

Saturday, December 17, 2011
I am having my Mother-in-Law stay with us so I have been busy getting ready for her to come.  I thought that I would share with how I get ready for overnight guests.
The Guest Room
Make sure your guest sheets are clean.
2010 12 08_1337
Add a little Christmas decor
2010 12 08_1339
But not too much.
2010 12 08_1340
Keep it simple.
2010 12 08_1342
Make sure you take away your other decor before adding more.  Keep it Simple!
2010 12 08_1343
If you can, clear out some closet space for your guest.
2010 12 08_1346
Empty out a drawer for some of their belongings.
2010 12 08_1347
The Bathroom
Make sure you have plenty of toilet paper and it is easy to find.
2010 12 09_1290
Make sure you have clean towels and they easily accessible.
2010 12 09_1299 2010 12 09_1300
Add a cute hand towel
2010 12 09_13012010 12 09_1302
Provide extra toiletries.  I keep the ones from hotels and save incase someone forgets something.
2010 02 25_0701
Around the  House
Pick up all the toys
Declutter
Wash the Windows  (I use Basic H)
2010 12 08_1404
Smell good – because my household cleaner doesn’t have a scent, around Christmas, I like to add peppermint essential oil to my spray bottle for Christmas time.
2010 12 09_1303
Plan a tablescape.
2010 12 08_1352
Stock the fridge
